For the past few days, Burundian refugees in the Nduta camp in Tanzania have been enjoying progress in raising awareness about the fight against covid-19 in this camp. Those in charge of the camp and the health officers are resolutely mobilised and are working hard to ensure the effective implementation of the barrier measures.

The Nduta camp seems to be in line this time with the Covid-19 pandemic control programme recently launched by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania. Currently, restrictive measures against the spread of the Coronavirus are being implemented within the camp. For those who go to health facilities before entering, they must wash their hands, and those who go to the stocks to receive the food ration must wear masks, which was not the case before.

Although there have been significant advances in the fight against Covid-19, refugees in Nduta camp complain that they have received very worn masks from Médecins Sans Frontières. Some of them do not even have them anymore. Sometimes people lend each other these masks to gain access to the distribution of the food ration. The one who goes out lends it to the one who comes in.

The Burundian refugees in Nduta camp are asking the authorities to provide them with masks, especially as they could be infected with other diseases linked to this operation.
